Speed Freaks 2 was a planned sequel to Speed Freaks that was never released, due to FunCom Dublin shutting down in 2001.

According to Phil Plunkett, after Speed Freaks was completed, he and the other members of the SD Team had plenty of ideas for this sequel so they worked on it and some levels for it, with snowy levels and theme park levels that would have pushed the PlayStation console's limits. However, it was at a time when Sony was transitioning to the newer PlayStation 2 console, along with FunCom's main branch being more focused on MMO computer games, so the game was cancelled. [1]

On December 15th, 2022, Phil Plunkett uploaded two short clips of two of the prototype sequel's test levels on YouTube. He also revealed that he had also tested mountainous, rally-style levels in the unreleased sequel.[2]
